Title

North American Woodland

Description

This colored sketch from page 15 of the Louisville Zoo Botanical Master Plan illustrates a deciduous forest in the springtime, with flowrs in the foreground, and trees and blooming shrubs in the background. “Where exhibit habitats require a temperate forest enviornment (such as the North American woodland on the opposite page), the addition of understory plants such as dogwood, viburnum, wild hydrangea and azalea, along with hostas and naturalizing ground covers, will provide an exciting landscape setting within the existing woodland areas.” This colored sketch is derived from the pencil sketch zoo_lou_sk_00.
