Title

New Entry Area: Flamingo & Tortoise Exhibits

Description

Flamingos and a giant tortoise are in the foreground, with new entry buildings in the background. “As the new Children’s Zoo expands and develops, the Master Plan proposes a new main entrance immediately adjacent to the parking area. Here a group of three buildings, each of which may be built separately, will create a dynamic yet functional arrival point.” “A group of 15-20 beautiful flamingos will grace the lawn and pond in the loop that the train track makes near the Zoo entrance.” Note: the flamingo section of this drawing served as the cover illustration on the Master Plan report booklet (report_scoville-childrens-zoo_rp_1983) and portions of that section were featured in other later Bassett Associates works.
